17th Board Meeting, 28-29 November 2022, Geneva, Switzerland
The 17th Meeting of the GCERF Governing Board was held on 28-29 November 2022 in Geneva, Switzerland. There were 68 participants, including high-level representatives from Chad, a new GCERF partner country, the Sahel, Somalia, as well as Permanent Representatives from Geneva Missions. Decisions taken included the approval of 2023 Budget, selection of new members of the Independent Review Panel and governance reform.
The meeting featured a series of panels led by GCERF’s National advisors which covered:
- community responses in the Sahel for more effective counterterrorism efforts;
- the impact of the war in Ukraine on Nigeria and Somalia with regard to food security and violent extremism;
- the role of the private sector in PVE focused on Nigeria and the Philippines and;
- effective rehabilitation and reintegration, from pre-departure interventions to post-integration sustainability.
