Deka Anwar
Research Analyst, Institute for Policy Analysis of Conflict

Deka Anwar is a program coordinator at IMPAC, a new organisation that specialises in training and intervention in C/PVE and conflict resolution in Indonesia. Previously, he worked as a research analyst at the Institute for Policy Analysis of Conflict, a position he has held since February 2017. He specialises in transnational terrorism, violent conflict, and insurgency, with particular expertise in Southeast Asian security issues. His research covers regional foreign policies, cross-border security challenges, and conflict dynamics in Indonesia, Myanmar and the Philippines.

Deka holds a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Uppsala University. He previously worked with Search for Common Ground Indonesia on prisoner disengagement programs and completed an internship at the Humanitarian Dialogue Centre in the Philippines.
