Meet Oksana: Championing Community Resilience in Kyrgyzstan

We are pleased to introduce Oksana, GCERF’s National Adviser in Kyrgyzstan. She is a committed advocate for community resilience, child protection, and locally led initiatives to prevent violent extremism.

Oksana holds a Master’s in Special Pedagogics and has complemented her academic background with international certifications in project management, child protection, monitoring and evaluation, gender equality, and human rights. She has received advanced training from universities in London, Saint Petersburg, and Melbourne, equipping her with a diverse set of skills to support civil society and local communities effectively.

At GCERF, Oksana works closely with civil society partners, coordinating grant activities, monitoring programme implementation, and fostering collaboration among donors, government ministries, and local stakeholders. Her efforts ensure that programmes are locally relevant, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of communities across Kyrgyzstan.

“I am driven by the belief that strong communities build lasting peace and resilience,” Oksana says. “Empowering local actors is essential to preventing violent extremism and fostering sustainable development.”

Through her work, Oksana helps build trust, strengthen local capacity, and ensure that communities are equipped to lead meaningful change, making civil society a central force for resilience and peace in Kyrgyzstan.
