We are pleased to introduce Fedia, GCERF’s National Adviser in Tunisia. She is a dedicated advocate for community resilience, inclusive governance, and locally led initiatives to prevent violent extremism.
Born in Libya, Fedia studied History, Geography, Archaeology, Business English, and Political Science. She brings over 15 years of experience working with institutions, civil society, and government bodies across Tunisia, the MENA region, Africa, and the Euro-Mediterranean area, collaborating with international partners such as the EU, USAID, and UN agencies. Fedia has designed and implemented capacity-building programmes on governance, civic engagement, rule of law, women’s and youth rights, and preventing violent extremism, and has worked closely with local communities, NGOs, and stakeholders to strengthen skills, foster dialogue, and promote inclusive development.
At GCERF, Fedia ensures that funded programmes achieve measurable progress in preventing violent extremism and are fully aligned with Tunisia’s national counter-extremism strategy. She provides technical support, monitors and evaluates project implementation, and strengthens the capacities of local partners, fostering collaboration that delivers sustainable, community-driven change.
“I am profoundly and ethically committed to empowering communities and promoting resilient societies where dialogue, diversity, democracy, and development (4D) constitute the pillars for sustainable peace and security,” Fedia says. “I firmly believe that lasting change derives from local ownership, effective partnerships, and equitable access to opportunities that amplify the perspectives of those most affected by violent extremism.”
