20th Board Meeting, 25 – 26 June 2024, Geneva, Switzerland
The 20th Meeting of the Governing Board (the Board) of the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) was held on 25-26 June 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland. There were 77 participants, including high-level government officials and civil society representatives.
Decisions taken at the meeting included the approval of new members of the Board and Independent Review Panel (IRP); the 2023 Annual Report; the Audited Financial Statements; and the Investment Strategy for Indonesia. Please see the full list of decisions here.
The meeting featured a high-level event on “Emptying the camps in Northeast Syria: Reducing the Threat of Terrorism”, which focused on addressing the obstacles to rehabilitation and reintegration (R&R) in Northeast Syria.The event served as a platform for civil society organisations supported by GCERF to introduce the following two R&R guidance documents:
• Civil Society’s Approach to Rehabilitation and Reintegration in the Western Balkans
• Guidance Note on Supporting Community-Based Reintegration of Former Members of Armed Forces and Groups
