Meet Olivier: Advancing Community Resilience in Chad

We are pleased to introduce Olivier, GCERF’s National Adviser in Chad. He is a dedicated development professional with a multidisciplinary background in project management, rural engineering, and sustainable agriculture.

Over the years, Olivier has held leadership roles with IRC Chad and UNDP Chad, contributing to agro-sylvo-pastoral and fisheries value chains, training local actors, and strengthening institutional capacities. He has also worked internationally in renewable energy, microfinance, and sustainable development projects, bringing a diverse technical expertise to his work.

At GCERF, Olivier works closely with local civil society partners, guiding them through the entire grant management cycle, from proposal development and due diligence to programme supervision and reporting. He strengthens organisational capacities, supports consortium management, and fosters collaboration with government authorities and donors. His efforts ensure that programmes are locally relevant, effective, and have a lasting impact on community resilience.

“The role of National Adviser is both demanding and rewarding,” Olivier reflects. “It requires patience, attentive listening, and understanding to mediate between GCERF, partners, and authorities. Preventing violent extremism in Chad is complex, but I am committed to supporting communities in building resilience and consolidating lasting peace.”

Olivier regularly engages with partners in the field, listens to their challenges firsthand, and works with them to explore innovative solutions. His expertise, dedication, and vision are central to empowering communities and strengthening civil society as a driving force for sustainable peace in Chad.
